Coast Academy is a vibrant beach sports camp located in Playa del Rey, California, catering to kids aged 5-14. Our camp aims to foster a love for beach sports while providing a safe and supportive environment. We encourage physical activity, teamwork, and friendship, all against the stunning backdrop of the California coastline. Our dedicated staff is committed to making each day fun and enriching for every camper.

What We Do

Coast Academy provides community-focused youth development programs for the Westchester/Del Rey area. Our beach programs go beyond “a fun week in the sand”—we teach beach etiquette, ocean safety, and lifelong outdoor habits so kids feel confident, capable, and stoked to be outside.

Our Story

Third-generation Westchester local Devin Bonney founded Coast Academy to share his love for the ocean—and for this community—with the next generation.

“Growing up here is such a blessing, with the beach a bike ride away. I always daydreamed about my dad’s stories of a tighter-knit Westchester—everyone down at Toes Beach on summer days. What better way to bring that feeling back than by getting kids together on our local beachfront?”

With 5 years at Beachsports, the South Bay’s preeminent summer camp, Devin saw how powerful beach culture can be for kids’ confidence, friendships, and health. Westchester families span many schools—St. Anastasia, Visitation, Cowan, Kentwood, WISH, WNS and more—so Coast Academy creates a shared space to connect, play, and grow together right here at home.
